필립 테일러

필립 테일러는 리즈 대학교에서 교육을 받으며 제임스 데니와 알렉산더 괴르를 사사한 후 음악 학사와 교육 석사를 취득하였고, 로얄 컬리지 오브 뮤직의 디플로마를 취득하였다. 오랜 기간 그는 북잉글랜드의 사립학교인 리쉬워스 학교에서 음악 감독으로 일하였다.

1997년에 전임 교사직을 은퇴한 후에는 허더필드 대학에서 음악교육을 강의하였고, 피아니스트로써 오페라 노스(Opera North)의 교육적인 봉사활동이란 원칙 아래, 젊은 사람들과 함께 하는 작업에도 매진하였다.  영국의 A-level (고등졸업시험) 시험협회 음악시험관 수장을 역임하였으며, 라인골드 음악사에서 출판한 A-level과 GCSE 음악을 위한 여러 개의 듣기 가이드의 저자이기도 하다.

Philip Taylor

Philip Taylor was educated at Leeds University, studying under James Denny and Alexander Goehr. He gained a BA (Hons) degree in Music and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.  Later he became an Associate of the Royal College of Music.  For many years he was Director of Music at Rishworth School, a leading independent school in the North of England.

Since leaving full time teaching in 1997, Philip has taught Music Education at Huddersfield University.  He also works as a pianist, concentrating on working with young people, principally in the educational outreach work of Opera North.  Philip was the Chief Examiner for music for one of the major A-level examining boards in the UK.  He is the author of several Listening Guides for A-level and GCSE music, published by Rhinegold Music.
